Nothing but dad-clicks, taxes, and home values...This man once owned a Mustang Ghia with cherry bombs and accidentally made it run too rich so it spat fireballs. He rode his kawasaki LTD to work since it saved gas and wasn’t a chevette. He has bricked his 2nd computer of the year. The year 2019.

Oppo, please give me strength.

There is no strength, there is only the realization:

My father is quite, um, post-young. We usually talk about cars, weather, traffic, pretty much nothing else. It's great!

It will take work, but with your help there is still hope! Folks get set in their ways - need to shake things up every once in a while. What does he drive now?

....K, dad. The taiwanese motherboards certainly behave better if you touch them as an American instead of another nationali ty.

As someone who is clearly old enough to be your father...

...I'm glad that he's not me.

Wait, he's bricking computers at the rate of one per month? How the hell is that even possible?

Sometimes I talk “Dad speak” to my son, just to annoy him. Little does he know I’m still cool...on the inside.

Examples:

“Hey there fella’, are you really going out dressed like that?”

“You need a hair cut.”

“That’s not music! Back in my day we listened to (insert some old rock band here)“

“Your first car will be slow and safe. You’re not getting a Mustang.”

My 72yo dad once stole his grandparents Lincoln Continental convertible and totaled it by T-boning another car while blowing through a stop sign joy riding with his friends in high school. Now he just plays solitaire on his phone and works on his taxes.

Side note, I always wondered why he never gave any of us a hard time about our driving misadventures in high school. Now I know why. My grandparents forgave him for what he did and he grew as a person. I suppose as long as we didn’t do anything worse than he did, we escaped his wrath.
